The latest EP on Yeti Out's left-field music imprint Silk Road Sounds is 'Speed Heals" by South Korean house/techno producer Closet Yi.

Adrenaline-filled rhythms lay down the foundation to SRS008's lead track "Pikes Pique (Hill Climbing), building up to a crescendo where a slow hill climb in the Nissan 180SX is comparative to a stroll through downtown Seoul or Hong Kong - moments before we hit the club in a post-pandemic world. While uncertainty is in the air, a formative kick & snare rhythm gives repetitive structure in "Veilside," before a nostalgic injection of the Roland TB-303 bassline harks us back to days of dancing till the early hours in "Pikes Pique (Down Hill)."

Drifting off winding dirt roads in these cinematic thumpers, we arrive at "Riverside Pawn Shop" - the fourth track on the B-side. "If our lives are our own biopic, then the Pawn Shop is a fixture for transient relationships," says Closet. As the concept of time departs from the progress of existence into a metaphor for stillness, the 4-track EP embarks on a journey through late-night exploration. Distributed via LA-based underground imprint Alpha Pup, the EP will be available August 20 on all streaming platforms (with a bonus track on Bandcamp) and at select record stores.
